Volume and focus
Outcomes correlate with how often someone does a specific operation. A surgeon doing two hundred of something a year is in different territory to one doing twenty.
Continuity
Being assessed by one person and operated on by another loses information. Ask whether the person in front of you will be the one in theatre.
“The surgeon who assesses you should be the surgeon who operates on you.”
