What has evidence
The AREDS formulations have trial evidence for slowing progression in specific intermediate stages of dry AMD — not for preventing it, and not for everyone.
Leafy greens and oily fish are sensible. They are also just sensible generally.
What does not
Most of what is marketed for eye health has no evidence behind it at all. If a supplement claims to reverse macular degeneration, it is not telling the truth.
“Stopping smoking does more for your macula than any supplement on the shelf.”
