The number in context
Pressure varies through the day, with a peak often in the early morning when nobody is measuring. A single reading in clinic is a snapshot of a moving value.
Corneal thickness also skews the measurement, which is why we measure it once and correct for it after.
Your target
Someone with advanced damage may need a pressure in the low teens. Someone with none may sit comfortably at 22 for life.
The target is set against your optic nerve, not a population average.
“There is no such thing as a normal pressure. There is only a pressure your optic nerve tolerates.”
